JeroGames ("we", "us", or "our") publishes mobile apps and operates websites including jerogames.com (collectively, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices available to you.
This policy applies to all of our apps:
Most of our apps use anonymous usage and do not require you to create an account. Big Quiniela is an exception: it requires you to sign in with Apple or Google to participate in private prediction groups and to maintain your standings across devices. Where this policy describes data tied to a user account (such as email address or display name), it applies primarily to Big Quiniela and any future app that requires sign-in.
By using any of our Services you agree to the collection and use of data as described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of our Services.
Data We Collect
We collect the following types of data to provide, maintain, and improve our Services:
- Account Information (Big Quiniela and other sign-in apps only): When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive a stable user identifier, your email address, and your display name (which you can edit later in the app). If your Google account provides a profile photo URL, we store the URL but do not download or process the image itself.
- Anonymous User IDs: Apps that do not require sign-in (such as Papelitos, Lil Rooster, Block Flood, etc.) generate an anonymous user ID through Firebase Authentication so we can attribute high scores and purchases to your device without collecting personal information.
- Device & Identifiers: Device model, operating system version, language, IP address, advertising identifiers (e.g., IDFA/AAID), and identifiers for vendor (IDFV).
- Usage & Diagnostics: In-app events, ad impressions and clicks, performance metrics, crash logs, and gameplay data such as levels completed, hints used, coins earned, high scores, and (for Big Quiniela) match predictions, prediction outcomes, points earned, and group standings.
- Approximate Location: Derived from your IP address for fraud prevention, analytics, and ad delivery. We do not collect precise GPS location.
- User Content / Gameplay Content: Optional public nickname (only if you reach the Top 10 on a global leaderboard in our anonymous-mode apps), game scores, points, coin balances, and — for Big Quiniela specifically — match predictions, knockout outcome picks, champion and semifinalist picks, favorite team selection, and any private groups you create or join (group name, six-character invite code, and member list).
- Push Notification Tokens: If you enable notifications, we register an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token through Firebase Cloud Messaging so we can deliver match-start reminders, score updates, and group activity alerts.
- Purchase Metadata: Product ID, transaction ID, and timestamp to fulfill or restore in-app purchases (such as the Big Quiniela Pro one-time unlock and consumable card packs). We do not receive or store full payment details; all purchases are processed and handled by the Apple App Store.
- Contact Info: Any information you voluntarily provide when you contact us, including your email address and message contents.
How We Use Data
We use the data we collect for the following purposes:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Services
- Authenticate users and maintain account state across devices (Big Quiniela and other sign-in apps)
- Score predictions, compute leaderboard standings, and manage private groups (Big Quiniela)
- Deliver push notifications you have opted in to receive
- Serve and measure advertising, including rewarded ads
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries
- Ensure security, detect fraud, and prevent abuse (including via Firebase App Check)
- Maintain leaderboard functionality across our games
- Perform analytics and product research to inform future development
- Process, fulfill, and restore in-app purchases
- Send transactional communications related to your use of the Services (we do not send marketing emails)
Advertising, Tracking & SDKs
We use third-party ad networks (primarily Google AdMob) and backend services (Firebase by Google). These partners may collect or receive device identifiers, usage data, approximate location, and other signals to serve, measure, and — where permitted — personalize advertisements.
Tracking Technologies
Our apps include SDKs that may use identifiers such as IDFA/AAID and similar technologies for ad delivery and measurement. Where consent is required for personalized advertising (for example, under the EU ePrivacy Directive or Apple's App Tracking Transparency framework), we request it before enabling tracking. If consent is declined, we show contextual, non-personalized ads where applicable.
Big Quiniela — Specific SDKs & Data
Big Quiniela integrates the following services in addition to the SDKs listed elsewhere on this page:
- Sign in with Apple (provided by Apple) — for authentication. Apple may provide a private relay email address.
- Sign in with Google (provided by the GoogleSignIn SDK) — for authentication. Returns email, display name, and an optional profile photo URL.
- Firebase Authentication — to manage user identity and link Apple/Google sign-ins to a stable user ID.
- Cloud Firestore — to store user profiles, predictions, and private groups.
- Cloud Functions — to compute scores, validate group invitations, and process server-side logic.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — to deliver opt-in push notifications.
- Firebase App Check — to verify that requests to our backend come from a legitimate, unmodified copy of the app. App Check uses Apple's DeviceCheck/App Attest framework and does not collect personal information.
- StoreKit 2 (provided by Apple) — to handle the Big Quiniela Pro one-time unlock and consumable purchases. Payment is processed by Apple.
Big Quiniela does not use Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Realtime Database, Firebase Storage, Firebase Remote Config, HealthKit, CoreLocation, Contacts, Photos, Camera, or Microphone.
Firebase Services (other apps)
Our other apps use Firebase Authentication (anonymous user IDs), Firebase Realtime Database, and Firebase Firestore to power global leaderboards, store gameplay progress, and manage in-app purchase entitlements. Your nickname (if provided) and scores are stored on Firebase servers and may be visible to other players on leaderboards.
Third-party privacy policies:
Legal Bases (EEA/UK)
Where applicable under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or UK GDPR, our legal bases for processing personal data include:
- Consent: For personalized advertising and optional analytics where consent is required by law.
- Legitimate Interests: For security, fraud prevention, basic analytics, product improvement, and leaderboard functionality.
- Contract: For providing paid features, processing in-app purchases, authenticating users, and delivering core Service functionality.
Retention
We retain personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. After that, data is deleted or anonymized in accordance with our retention practices.
For Big Quiniela, account information, predictions, and group memberships are retained while your account remains active. Leaderboard data (nickname and scores in our anonymous-mode apps) is retained while you remain in the Top 10. Gameplay analytics and crash logs are typically retained for up to 12 months. Purchase metadata is retained as long as needed to support purchase restoration. When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize the associated data within a reasonable timeframe (see Account Deletion).
Account Deletion
If you signed into Big Quiniela (or any other app of ours that supports user accounts), you can delete your account and the personal data associated with it directly from within the app at any time.
How to Delete Your Big Quiniela Account
Open the app, go to the More tab, scroll to the bottom of the screen, and tap Delete Account. You will be asked to confirm. Once confirmed, your account is signed out and a deletion request is queued on our backend.
What Gets Deleted
When you delete your account, we remove or anonymize: your account profile (email, display name, photo URL, favorite team and tournament picks), your match predictions, your membership in private groups, and any push notification tokens associated with your account. Aggregate, anonymized data that cannot be linked back to you (such as overall app analytics) may be retained for product improvement.
Pro Unlock & Restore
Big Quiniela Pro is a one-time unlock (not a recurring subscription), so there is nothing to cancel before deleting your account. However, your Pro entitlement is tied to your Apple ID through StoreKit, not to your in-app account. After deleting your in-app account, you can sign back in later (or on another device) and tap Restore Purchases in the Paywall screen to recover your Pro unlock at no additional cost.
Records We May Retain
We may retain a minimal record of the deletion request (such as a deleted user identifier and timestamp) for up to 90 days for fraud prevention, abuse mitigation, and legal compliance. After that period, this record is also removed or fully anonymized.
If you cannot access the in-app deletion flow for any reason, you can email us at jerodevelapp@gmail.com from the email associated with your account and we will process the deletion manually.
Your Rights
EEA/UK Residents: Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, port, restrict, and object to processing of your personal data, as well as the right to withdraw consent at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
US Residents: Depending on your state (including California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and others), you may have rights to access, delete, correct, and opt out of the sale/sharing of personal data or targeted advertising.
All Users: If you wish to remove your nickname from a leaderboard, delete your account, or exercise any of the rights above, email us at jerodevelapp@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. Big Quiniela users can also delete their account directly from within the app — see Account Deletion.
Your Choices & Controls
iOS App Tracking Transparency
On iOS 14.5 and later, you will be prompted to allow or deny tracking when you first open the app. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. You may also reset or limit your advertising identifier in your device settings.
Push Notifications
Big Quiniela's push notifications are opt-in. You can enable or disable them at any time from the More tab inside the app, or system-wide in Settings > Notifications > Big Quiniela.
Leaderboard Participation
Participation in global leaderboards is optional. You can choose not to provide a nickname, and you can request removal of your nickname at any time by emailing us.
Rewarded Ads
Watching rewarded video ads to earn in-game currency or unlock features is entirely optional and requires your explicit action each time. You are never required to watch an ad to use core features of our apps.
In-App Purchases
In-app purchases and the Big Quiniela Pro one-time unlock are optional. You can disable in-app purchases in your device settings (Settings > Screen Time > Content & Privacy Restrictions > iTunes & App Store Purchases). Purchases can be restored on new devices using the Restore Purchases option within each app.
Children
Our Services are not directed to children under 13 years of age (or the applicable local minimum age). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children below this threshold. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided personal data to us, please contact us at jerodevelapp@gmail.com so we can take steps to remove it.
Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the data we process, including the use of encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS), Firebase Security Rules to restrict unauthorized database access, Firebase App Check to block unauthorized clients from reaching our backend, and regular review of our data handling practices. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
International Transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States, where our service providers (such as Google/Firebase) maintain servers. Where required by applicable law, we rely on appropriate safeguards — such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) — to ensure an adequate level of protection for international data transfers.
app-ads.txt
We host an app-ads.txt file at jerogames.com to publicly declare the authorized sellers and resellers of our advertising inventory, in accordance with the IAB Tech Lab specification.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. When we make material changes, we will update the "Effective date" at the top of this page and provide notice where required by law. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
